2008 is Jubilee Holy Year by declaration of Pope Benedict XVI. It coincides with the 1200th anniversary of the day the Angels’ Cross was donated to the Church in Oviedo by Alfonso II, and the 1100th anniversary of the donation of the Victory Cross to the Cathedral by Alfonso III.
Due to this, all those who take part in the holy celebrations and receive the papal blessing given to pilgrims and the faithful will find Indulgence in Covadonga.
Covadonga shares the grace of this Holy Year with Oviedo Cathedral and its Holy Chamber.
